Andrés Carrasco fue un reconocido científico que denunció los efectos nocivos de los agrotóxicos en la salud, en pleno auge del modelo agroexportador. Mientras ponía en jaque al sistema científico, se convertía en un referente para las víctimas.

Argentina is one of the most highly fumigated countries in the world. Large tracts of land are destined to monoculture of transgenic crops, the basis of the agro-export model. In the last decades, the imposition of new technologies linked to the use of agrochemicals has changed the way of getting sick and dying in Argentina. Andres Carrasco was a renowned scientist who, in full swing of the agro- export model, dared to denounce the harmful effects of pesticides on human health. By challenging the scientific system -subsidized by the state with the connivance of agrochemical companies- he became a referent for the victims of the model.
